Maturity Model

Project Description

CTSAs are centralized sources of clinical and translational research, but often struggle with helping their organizations understand the strategic importance of improving their informatics capabilities and information technology deployment. All institutions endeavor to understand what they should invest in to remain innovative and competitive, not only in research, but in translating knowledge into practice and exploring data to improve health. Organizations that engage in research, especially with Clinical and Translational Science groups, may want to self-assess their maturity of key research IT capabilities and learn how to improve these capabilities.

This project was designed to develop an approach to help organizations through that process. Because significant interest in the Maturity Model had been expressed within the translational science community, we wanted to democratize the survey method so that stakeholders at all levels could self-assess to both improve their current functions a s well as plan for innovation.

Archived projects do not have active meetings, however, Informatics Maturity & Best Practices Core community meetings occur the 3rd Thursday of the month at 10 am PT/1 pm ET. Contact data2health@gmail.com for meeting invitation.
