BioCatalyst is a first-of-its-kind search engine/application that allows biobanks to connect both clinical attributes and biological/molecular data to existing biospecimens in a central, easy-to-use virtual ecosystem. As of spring 2021, the Biocatalyst team has launched a working prototype that links and makes de-identified biospecimen data searchable across several data sources. A user management model is in place including an "Honest Broker" role that provides an additional security layer ensuring that all user-provided data in the system are reviewed and PHI-free.
