IMO releases open source terminology and value set data package for COVID-19
As a partner to providers and HIT vendors / collaborators around the world, IMO is committed to supporting the healthcare community by releasing open source terminology and value sets for COVID-19.
This open source data package of IMO content for COVID-19 allows IMO and non-IMO partners and customers to speak the same clinical language across their enterprises and in collaboration with others. This, in turn, will enable better insights into the data required to manage the public health impacts of the pandemic.
The data package contains clinical terminology and related maps that allow you to capture precise problem, lab, and procedure information for COVID-19 patients at the point of care. In addition, it enables data aggregation and normalization across your enterprise which can then be summarized and shared with other collaborators. The package also includes an integration best practice guide to help you quickly and accurately integrate these terms and value sets into your health information systems.
The IMO team has released the newest version of the open source data package with the most recently released content on 5/26. This recent update of the open source data package of IMO content for COVID-19 allows IMO and non-IMO partners and customers to speak the same clinical language across their enterprises and in collaboration with others. This, in turn, will enable better insights into the data required to manage the public health impacts of the pandemic.
The COVID-19 data package is available for download, completely free of charge, helping you to:
- Leverage IMO terminology to create a common, uniform description of COVID-19 problem, procedure, and lab information
- Use health information systems to identify and engage patients who have documented COVID-19 problems, diagnoses, and labs
- Create and analyze cohorts of COVID-19 patients to assist with infection control measures and population health protocols
