The past year demonstrated the necessity in our country for access toinformation to improve health and health care, and the need for professionalsto use and apply that information to transform health care. At the same time,the past year made us aware of different approaches as we were forced to adaptto a “new normal” in many areas.
The AMIAAnnual Symposium is the largest informatics meeting worldwide and builds onmore than 40 years of sharing insights and research to advance health care throughinformatics.
The AMIA2020 Virtual Annual Symposium had our highest submission numbers to date.With more than 70 keywords and seven programmatic themes, we aim to increasethose numbers with YOURscience in 2021!

New Theme for 2021:Academic Informatics
In addition to the six programmatic themes, we have added an additionaltheme for 2021.Academic Informatics: An opportunity for submissions demonstratingstate-of-the-art approaches and best practices in education, training andworkforce development. This thematic focus includes work addressing curricularand pedagogical challenges within academic informatics across a spectrum ofeducation settings including high school, undergraduate, graduate level, postgraduate, and continuing professional education. The goal is to support thegrowth of programs, professionals, and the learners they educate by solvingchallenges and strengthening the academic informatics community
